The Los Angeles Dodgers have been plagued by injuries all season, and the situation is worsening as July ends. Despite the front office’s efforts to mitigate the damage, new injuries are occurring almost nightly. On Wednesday, before their game against the San Francisco Giants, Miguel Rojas joined the injured list with a forearm injury. To fill the gap, the Dodgers quickly signed veteran infielder Nick Ahmed, who was released by the Giants earlier this season.

Fabian Ardaya reported, “Nick Ahmed is at Dodger Stadium. The Dodgers have signed him, a source said. Miguel Rojas to the IL.”

Ahmed made his Dodgers debut in their 8-3 loss to San Francisco, going 1-3, scoring a run, and striking out twice. While Ahmed isn’t a superstar, he can temporarily stabilize the shortstop position as the Dodgers aim to recover from their injuries. However, the injuries persist. In the latest loss, Chris Taylor exited early with a groin injury, likely joining Rojas on the injured list. Manager Dave Roberts expressed significant concern, mentioning that Taylor will undergo an MRI and James Outman is being called up.

The Dodgers are struggling with an unrelenting series of injuries, but given their strong roster, they are still considered contenders for a deep playoff run in October. Despite the challenges, Los Angeles has the talent to navigate this tough period and hopefully recover key players soon.
