Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons looks on before the game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones mentioned Parsons would be a game-time decision, and head coach Mike McCarthy’s latest update reinforces that. McCarthy shared that Parsons hasn’t yet cleared “the return to play threshold.” He explained, “There’s always a threshold to return. He’s not there yet. Until he’s able to fully participate, it’s unlikely he’ll play. If a player doesn’t practice by Saturday, they generally don’t play.”

Parsons, who injured his ankle in Week 4 against the Giants, is set to join Thursday’s rehab group. While his return would be a big boost for the Cowboys’ defense, they’re preparing as if he won’t be available.

Kickoff between the Cowboys and 49ers is at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.
