Nick Castellanos contributed three hits and two RBIs, while J.T. Realmuto smashed a two-run homer. The Phillies (92-62) extended their NL East lead to seven games over the second-place Mets (85-69) with just eight games remaining.

“It was a great night overall,” said manager Rob Thomson. With the Phillies guaranteed at least a National League wild card, they are now just one win away from clinching their first division title since 2011 as they continue their series against the Mets at Citi Field.

“We’ve worked so hard all season for this,” said winning pitcher Cristopher Sánchez, speaking through a translator. “It’s something beautiful that happened today—really special for us.”

With the division crown within reach, the Phillies celebrated with a low-key champagne toast in the clubhouse, led by Thomson, marking this major milestone in their season.
