Star 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel understands the urgency surrounding San Francisco’s Super Bowl chances, knowing their window of opportunity is quickly closing.
Entering his sixth NFL season, Samuel is laser-focused on winning the title in 2024. Speaking on his podcast “Cleats and Convos” with co-host Liv Moods and teammate Brandon Aiyuk, Samuel didn’t hold back his desire to secure the franchise’s sixth Vince Lombardi Trophy.
“I’m full at this point,” Samuel said with a laugh. “It’s time to clean the plate. It’s either now or never. That’s how I see it.”
Samuel’s passion for bringing a championship to the Bay Area is clear: “I’ve been on the best team in the NFL for the past six years. We’ve got to get it done.”
The 49ers have consistently been one of the NFL’s elite teams, with deep playoff runs becoming routine. However, despite multiple NFC Championship appearances, the Super Bowl remains elusive. Samuel has been a key contributor in those runs, with 46 catches for 638 yards and 3 touchdowns in 12 playoff games, but the missing piece is the championship ring.
With one of the strongest rosters in the league, San Francisco is always in the mix. But as Samuel points out, the clock is ticking. The team is aging, injuries are mounting, and massive contracts are looming. For the 49ers, it truly is “now or never.”
