Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman will miss Friday night’s game against the Chicago White Sox due to swelling in the back of his right elbow. Bregman revealed that the issue arose after he slept awkwardly on his arm a few days ago. An MRI showed no damage, and he doesn’t believe the problem is serious. He expects to return after a few days of rest.

“It’s frustrating because I’m swinging the bat really well right now,” Bregman said before the series against the White Sox. “I’m playing at a high level, so I’m hoping to be back in a few days and ready to go.”
He emphasized that the issue isn’t a long-term concern, just something he needs to address before returning to the field. Bregman may sit out the weekend series but aims to be back in action for Monday’s series opener against the Boston Red Sox.
This season, Bregman is hitting .261 with 19 home runs and 59 RBIs. He’s been on fire recently, homering in four of his last five games, with six RBIs and 11 hits during that span.
