Kansas City Chiefs star defensive tackle Chris Jones missed practice on Sunday due to a groin strain, according to coach Andy Reid.
Jones, a two-time first-team All-Pro selection and three-time Super Bowl champion with the Chiefs, recently signed a five-year contract extension in March worth just under $160 million.
The eight-year veteran, who has been named to five Pro Bowls, has recorded 75.5 sacks in his career, including 26 in the past two seasons combined. He finished third in Defensive Player of the Year voting in 2022. Reid did not provide details on the severity of Jones’ injury or a timeline for his return to practice.
Also absent from Kansas City’s practice on Sunday were wide receivers Marquise Brown (illness) and Justin Watson (foot).
