The Celtics have officially signed Baylor Scheierman to his rookie contract, as announced in a team press release. The 6’6” swingman had an impressive collegiate career spanning five years between South Dakota State and Creighton.
At South Dakota State, Scheierman was twice named to the All-Summit League First Team and was named Summit League Player of the Year. After transferring to Creighton, he continued to excel, earning All-Big East First Team honors and a spot on the All-American Third Team in 2024.
In his final NCAA season, Scheierman averaged a career-best 18.5 points while shooting .448/.381/.876, along with 9.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 0.9 steals per game.
With the Celtics, Scheierman joins a team fresh off a championship season and a strong offseason, aiming to defend their title in the upcoming 2024/25 season. Despite the team’s deep roster, Scheierman could contribute as a sharpshooter in their three-point-focused offense. As the 30th overall pick in the draft, his rookie contract is expected to be valued at approximately $12.8 million over four years.
